Our little peanut...

5 weeks and 6 days
We had our first ultrasound today and had the chance to meet our little peanut! So exciting! "W" is very healthy and exactly where it's supposed to be. Dr. Lee is happy with our progress and said to keep taking it easy and we'll do another ultrasound next Friday...hopefully then we'll be able to hear W's heartbeat! It's still a little too early...I'll only be 6 weeks along tomorrow. Obviously we're very happy today, but my husband admitted to being a little sad that it wasn't twins...said he was kind of getting used to the idea. A huge shock to me...he seemed so nervous about the idea of twins. Lee thinks the second embryo just didn't take because it was nowhere to be found. I was a little sad too, but felt incredibly thankful for the one that survived.

I had a tiny dot of blood this morning, which made me panic a little, but Dr. Lee assured us that it's normal and nothing to worry about. Honestly, I think it was just irritation from the Crinone Gel. So far I haven't had any more spotting, which is a bit of a relief. I'm exhausted of course and my breasts are killing me (too much info? Oh well.) My JRA is doing pretty good too which is always a welcomed change. Nothing unexpected or too extreme so far, so I'm happy. It still hasn't fully sunken in yet that I'm pregnant again and I don't think it will for a while. Still a little too scared to let it really. So, until it does sink in, I'll do everything I can to keep W safe and sound.

P.S. My hCG went up to 6853! Doing good!

  3. Thanks Kerry! It's actually hard to do anything but rest. I'm so tired all of the time, all I want to do is sit or sleep. :) We went to dinner with some friends and family on Friday and I felt so bad because I was trying so hard not to fall to sleep the entire time. Not very good company these days I'm afraid. :)

  4. How super exciting!! And I think that pain-in-the-boob is actually a very good sign!! ~;o) Here's my TMI: mine hurt for like the entire first trimester!! But the discomfort all felt worth it to me to know that things were going well. And, yeah, pregnancy fatigue was like a whole new level of exhaustion - even for someone used to dealing with it all the time! In any event, I'm really glad to hear things are going well so far!

  5. Mairah - Yeah, I've given in to the sore boobs and lack of energy. I agree that they're good signs of a healthy pregnancy and they're not going away, so I've just given in. :) As far as fatigue goes, I've actually felt better over the last couple of days...meaning, I can stay up until 8:30 without any problems. hee hee
