Delays...

Last Wednesday my mom went with me to Dr. Lee to have an Ultrasound-guided Trial Transfer (UTT) performed. I had no clue what to expect, but it was actually a breeze. Basically, the doctor wanted to do a mock embryo transfer to see where the embryos need to be placed and if my uterus is healthy enough to protect them. So, while a vaginal ultrasound is in place, the doctor inserts a small tube into your uterus and shoots in a small amount of water, then through the same tube squirts some saline into the same spot. If everything is healthy & goes as planned, then the saline appears as a perfect circle or oval...and luckily mine was a perfect circle. It was pretty cool actually! Dr. Lee let my mom and I watch the whole thing.
After we were done with the transfer, Dr. Lee did an ultrasound to check the lining of my uterus and see how my ovaries were doing. Unfortunately, he found a cyst in my right ovary, so everything has to be delayed a week...ugh! I've had them a lot in the past and they've never been a problem, so Dr. Lee isn't too concerned about this one either. He said just to be safe, we'll push everything back a week, so I go back on the 24th to make sure the cyst is either gone or at least shrinking. I'm not completely bummed because I'm still taking the birth control and have been feeling great, but I'm excited to get things rolling. Like my hubby said though, better to delay things for a week and make sure everything is ideal, then to move forward and take a chance of complications.
So hopefully we'll get some good news on Wednesday, then the injections begin. I'm not looking forward to all of the needles and pills, but I'm confident that it will be worth it in the end. Hope everyone is doing well and thanks again for all of the support!
